Frequently asked questions
Some years ago the media went in to a frenzy over of Samsung’s Note 7 Smartphone and its spontaneously combusting Lithium-Ion Battery. Images of angry burned skin and melted phones graced our screens and airlines refused to carry said phones on any flights.
In fact many years ago Install A Gadget was on the receiving end of an exploding Lithium-Ion battery from a cordless drill, which resulted in small trailer fire, but fortunately no injuries!
Whilst many everyday electronic products are powered by Lithium batteries, there are actually numerous types of Lithium batteries which use different chemistries to operate.
The more commonly known are Lithium-Ion as mentioned previously, Lithium Polymer for items requiring a battery that’s much thinner and lighter, and Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) which has been specifically engineered with Electric Vehicles in mind.
The chemistry of our RVLSA LiFePO4 battery is so stable that even if you managed to puncture it with say, a nail or screw, drop it, over discharge, over charge, bake, freeze, crush or pierce it with a steel rod, it will still not explode or catch on fire.
An RVLSA LiFePO4 battery is also guarded by its own Control System which protects the battery from over charging and over discharging, PLUS we always install additional safeguards to protect the battery before its own control system needs to.
So if your RV is on fire, you can guarantee it’s NOT due to your incredibly light weight, efficient, powerful and long lasting new RV Lithium Battery System...

This depends on a number of factors and when armed with some answers to a few questions, we can tell you.
How many and what type of fridges do you run?
Is it a 3-way fridge (gas/12V/240V) or a compressor style fridge (12/24V or 240V only)
What make and model is your fridge?
Do you use it as a fridge, freezer or both?
Where & when do you like to go camping?
North? South? Anywhere I can get away?
What type of camping do you do?
Do you drive from caravan park to caravan park with a couple of overnight stays in between?
Are you a "Rover" who likes to stay a few days here, then drive to another camp for a few days? Are you travelling for long or short periods in between.
If you find a great off-the-grid camping spot, what's the maximum time you'd stay?
Do you live full time in your RV and infrequently visit powered caravan parks or avoid them altogether?
Do you have Solar Panels and if so are they fixed to your RV or portable and how many and what size are they?
Do you take a generator? (Ugh. We loathe generators but each to their own)
We know each trip will be different so this gives us a guide to help answer your question.
