Let's just say that Brenton wasn't really planning on a new vehicle build, nor had he anticipated an AGM, under bonnet Dual Battery System installation that just didn't work properly.
Inside of every problem lies an opportunity.
With the decision to upgrade to an RV Lithium Battery System, we were faced with the challenge of installing a Lithium Battery Pack, Redarc BCDC 1240D Vehicle and Solar Charger, Victron BMV 712 Battery Monitor and Victron 1200W Inverter in a very limited space, so as to allow for a fridge to be an option as needed, made possible by the professionals at Custom Installations.
By keeping the Inverter and Battery Monitor separate but close, we managed to fit a 200Ah Battery Pack with a BCDC on the wing of the drawers, next to the fridge space and added a Victron IP22 30A, 240V Bluetooth Charger underneath the wing, next to the Inverter.
We rewired the Fuse Boxes and put the AGM Auxiliary Battery to good use by setting it to act as a stand alone, back-up jump start battery.
Time to pack and set off for adventure!
