After a whopping 17 years of use, it was time for Steve and Sharon (a professional photographer) to retire the custom built and well used AGM battery box we built for them in 2008. Now that’s value for money!
On the heels of a 2023 custom installation of a 100Ah RV Lithium Systems battery, Victron chargers and SmartShunt battery monitor in their Cub Camper, Steve and Sharon revisited with their Prado, sporting a set of draws ready for The Lithium Box (TLB) 100/40 Small to go in.
TLB Small is very slim at just 155mm wide and fits most draw wing panels, but in this instance, the wing panel was a very slim 130mm and we had to navigate a cover over the Engel fridge.
So we removed the fridge cover, installed support brackets under the wing to take TLB's 15kg, modified the wing for access to underneath, added a brace to rest on and mounted TLB.
Finishing off, we remounted the fridge cover and moved the mounting points 22mm so the cover still works as good as ever.
To power TLB, in went a new Anderson plug charge circuit, and we supplied a Victron Smart Bluetooth IP65 7A 240V battery charger so TLB can be charged and maintained in storage, or if the Prado's parked up for a while at a caravan park.
