For many of our our clients, their demand for power due to a change in needs or style of travel can alter over time, like Dale, who's MDC XT16 caravan we fitted out with a complete Battery/Charge Drop-in Pack, in 2021.

Back then, the pack consisted of a:

✅️RV Lithium Systems 300Hh LiFePO4 Lithium Battery

✅️Victron Smart Bluetooth BMV702 Battery Monitor

✅️Victron Smart Bluetooth Orion 30A DC charger

✅️Victron Smart Bluetooth 50A MPPT Solar Controller

We also installed and connected the following to the Drop-in Pack:

✅️Victron Multiplus 1600VA Inverter / 70A Charger with Smart Bluetooth Dongle

✅️Four 100W Solar Panels to the existing two 170W Solar Panels, totalling 740W's of Solar

MDC XT16 caravan BEFORE and AFTER - 2021

Dale has moved on from the MDC and purchased a new 'Design RV CRX' caravan and was looking to a more powerful and modern tech set up.

To suit the new rig and how Dale likes to travel these days, we designed and built an RVLSA Custom Built 460Ah LiFePO4 Lithium battery with built in Victron Smart Bluetooth BMV702 Battery Meter, with a 500A continuous / 2000A surge for 10 seconds, Battery Management System (BMS) linked to the BMV meter.

The battery pack is sealed to the interior of the caravan and connects to an opening with our dust-preventing air filter kit to vent to the outside of the van and meet with Australian Standards AS/NZS 3001.2.2022.

We used one of our specialised, custom built Victron Power Boards, which makes for easy installation, built-in under the bed for a better-than-from-factory look.

Our Victron Board included a

  • Victron Multiplus II 3000VA Inverter / 120A Charger with Smart Bluetooth VE.Bus dongle. We modified the end of the Multiplus to facilitate direct air flow to our vent on the side of the bed base so hot air is directed out of the electrical compartment.

  • Victron Smart Bluetooth 50A MPPT Solar Controller linked to the two existing 220W 24ocv (open circuit voltage) and one new 130W 24OCV Solar Panel which we installed.

  • Victron Smart Bluetooth 30A MPPT Solar Controller linked to a newly installed 200W and 250W 48ocv Solar Panels.

  • Victron Smart Bluetooth 20A MPPT Solar Controller linked to an Anderson plug on the side of the van to accommodate additional portable solar panels which means the total roof solar capacity is a whopping 1020W plus up to 300W in portable solar adding up to 1320W in total!

  • Victron Smart Bluetooth 50A Orion XS DC-DC Vehicle charger for charging from the vehicle when the engine is running.

  • Victron Smart Bluetooth 65A Battery protect for the caravan power which prevents battery damage if the battery voltage drops below a preset threshold, and over-voltage protection which automatically cuts off power if the DC voltage exceeds safe levels.

Victron Cerbo GX and 8.1” Android Tablet display with Victron GUI (Graphical User Interface) which is the Victron operating system installed onto the tablet.

The Cerbo connects all the Victron products together and then displays information on the tablet about each product. The Cerbo is also connected by Wi-Fi to Victron VRM (Victron Remote Monitoring) which, as the name suggests, is a website for remote monitoring and servicing, which is a brilliant feature.
